POACHED: 49ers LOSE Darrell Luter AND Bryson Eason // George Kittle Taking Steps Toward Week 1

San Francisco 49ers lose Darrell Luter and Bryson Eason after AFC West rivals claim both off waivers—will this shake up the 49ers’ depth chart heading into Week 1? Brian Peacock and Eric Crocker assess Luter’s fit and potential upside for the Raiders, and debate whether undrafted standout Bryson Eason should have made the final 53-man roster over recent draft picks.

Roster politics and scheme fit take center stage as the 49ers’ initial practice squad takes shape, with familiar names like Obo Okoronkwo, KhaDarel Hodge, and Jalen Graham returning. The hosts break down roster construction, discuss the crowded running back situation behind Christian McCaffrey, and offer updates on George Kittle’s injury status and his chances to play in Australia. Can the 49ers’ depth step up following these key departures—and how will their special teams and run game evolve as a result?

San Francisco 49ers fans are treated to daily news and analysis with Locked On 49ers, hosted by football analyst Brian Peacock and former NFL/AFL cornerback Eric Crocker.
