Anthony Sowell, known as The Cleveland Strangler, was a former Marine who became one of Ohio’s most notorious serial killers. Between 2007 and 2009, Sowell lured vulnerable women to his home on Imperial Avenue in Cleveland, where he raped and murdered at least 11 victims, hiding their remains throughout his property. Despite complaints of foul smells and reports of missing women, authorities failed to act until a woman escaped his home in 2009, triggering a gruesome discovery.
