REACTION: BYU STUFFS TCU, Texas Tech Hammers Colorado, Baylor Over Arizona State, Iowa State Rolls

The BYU Cougars and Texas Tech Red Raiders once again anchored what makes a Saturday in the Big 12 an absolute war of attrition, putting their toughness on full display in high-stakes divisional clashes.

Heading into Fort Worth without their star workhorse LJ Martin, No. 10 BYU faced a hostile road test against TCU and leaned entirely on raw, unadulterated trench-warfare grit. Bear Bachmeier engineered a masterclass in situational football, pounding out tough yards and steering the Cougars to a hard-nosed 17-10 victory that proved this roster is built for the long, physical haul. Meanwhile, No. 12 Texas Tech rolled into Boulder and put on a clinic in complementary football. After surrendering an early score to Colorado, the Red Raiders' defense completely slammed the door, intercepting four passes and turning Folsom Field into a defensive showcase en route to a dominant 29-7 statement win that moves them to 5-0.

While soft-schedule brands across the country pad stats with early-season gimmicks, these programs continue to survive the weekly bloodbath through roster maturity and line-of-scrimmage dominance. BYU and Texas Tech aren't just winning games—they're exposing the true depth of a conference that national pollsters still refuse to fully respect.
