CFBKO DraftI am DONE With Zero Big 12 Respect from the AP Poll, National Shows... | College Football Kickoff

The Associated Press poll continues to shortchange the Big 12, treating a conference defined by brutal parity and physical trench warfare as an afterthought compared to coastal blue-bloods.

Even when programs like BYU, Texas Tech, and Utah brutalize their early-season schedules and prove their dominance at the line of scrimmage, AP voters stubbornly keep them bottled up outside the top tier. Traditional media biases mean that a powerhouse grinding through a hostile conference gauntlet has to fight twice as hard for national respect as any brand-name program coasting through a soft schedule. When teams like Oklahoma State or Houston secure statement road wins, they are treated as anomalies rather than proof of a deeply competitive league.

The AP voters are addicted to legacy names, routinely penalizing Big 12 squads for the very weekly bloodbath that makes their conference elite. Until the poll fully respects the developmental depth and physical reality of the Heartland, the Big 12 will remain the most under-respected vanguard in college football.
