🔴 REBEL SQUAD LIVE: Ole Miss vs LSU — Everything You Need Before Saturday

Every preview of Ole Miss and LSU this week has been about whether the Rebels can handle the moment. That's the wrong question. Ole Miss has been playing defense for nine months — all of this happened to them, and their only job since December has been to keep winning. LSU is the program that has to justify its existence on Saturday night.

[FOUR/THREE] days to LSU.

Steven Willis and the Rebel Squad go live to take the whole game apart: where the pressure actually sits and why Paul Finebaum agrees, the four things Ole Miss has to do to win this football game, the LSU player nobody in Mississippi is talking enough about, and the squad's score predictions. Plus your questions, live in the chat the whole way.

📌 THREE THINGS

1. The pressure belongs to Lane Kiffin, not Ole Miss. Paul Finebaum, asked on national radio whether Saturday is a must-win for him: "Yes. Yes. Yes." LSU is ranked seventh to Ole Miss's eighth, favored on the road, and carrying the most expensive roster in America — CBS Sports polled 50+ athletic directors, general managers, cap executives and agents and put LSU No. 1, north of $40 million. Kiffin left a 13-win program for a 7-6 one to go build it. And the asymmetry is the whole week: Ole Miss can lose this game and still be a 2-0 top-ten team in the playoff conversation Sunday morning. LSU cannot.
2. Four things decide it. Stop the busts — against Louisville, Ole Miss gave up 12 busted plays for over 300 yards, and Pete Golding has now described the same unsolved problem twice in four days: "an angle issue," guys "overrunning the football and not having gap control." Tackle in space. Stay on schedule, because Kiffin himself said Chambliss and Kewan Lacy produce maybe two negative plays in a whole game. And win the noise — Saturday is LSU's first road environment of the season, and Golding says 67,000 people breaks the sideline-to-helmet communication.
3. Account for Trey'Dez Green. He's 6-7 and 242 out of Zachary, Louisiana, wears LSU's legacy No. 7, led every SEC tight end with seven touchdowns last season, and his twelve career scores are an LSU record at the position. Against Louisiana Tech: 6 catches, 104 yards, a touchdown, 45 yards after the catch. Last week LSU lined him up wide, in the slot, in-line, at H-back, at fullback and at quarterback on a direct snap. The concept they run him on attacks discipline, not talent.
