Welcome to a brand new week on the Coach JV Podcast. I am recording off-location today right from my backyard, enjoying some oranges, watching the pool waterfall, and soaking it all in. This week, we are confronting the cost of the rattled man and learning why you have power over your mind, not outside events.
Every single insult that ruins your day, every delay that steals your peace, every outcome you cannot control, and every worry you rehearse for nothing is handing away your own power. A man ruled by what he cannot control is never the one in control. It is never the event itself that breaks you; it is the story that you tell yourself about it.
Society has conditioned us for a long time to wait for a savior or a president to fix everything, completely disconnecting us from our nervous system. Every time someone cuts you off on the freeway or a house closing gets delayed, you freak out—when the truth is that everything is happening for you, not against you.
Like Bruce Lee, Miyamoto Musashi, and Marcus Aurelius taught, you must be like water—flowing effortlessly around the rocks to find true presence. Here is how we are breaking down our battle plan for the week:
Monday: Facing the cost of the rattled man and taking power over your mind.
Tuesday: Reaction versus reason.
Wednesday: The Stoic Code.
Thursday: Daily execution.
Friday: The full week recap and leading into the weekend.
Stop letting outside events run your life and start taking your power back
