U.S. equity futures are lower, with S&P 500 futures down 0.4%. Bonds are also weaker. The U.S. 10-year yield is up to 5.2%, while the 10-year Bund yield is 3 bps higher at 3.6%. The dollar is mostly firmer, showing modest outperformance against the yen and Swiss franc. Oil is higher, with WTI up roughly 1.3% and trading above $93.50/bbl. Gold is lower, industrial metals are mostly weaker, and bitcoin is also under pressure. Bond markets remain under pressure, with the usual drivers in focus: higher oil prices, resilient U.S. growth, upside inflation risks, worsening fiscal trajectories, and expectations for a more hawkish monetary policy path. There is also some attention on curve flattening and the potentially negative signals it may send about the economic outlook.
