She Didn’t Know She’d Seen a Ghost | Real Ghost Stories

An abandoned hotel in New Orleans had found another use: a place for local bands to practice. Visiting family, she tagged along with her uncle, expecting an evening of music. One band member was running late, so everyone sat around talking. She was surrounded by people, with no reason to question anything she saw.

That was what made the encounter so difficult to understand afterward.

There was no shadow slipping out of sight, no distant sound she might have misheard. What caught her attention seemed ordinary enough that she simply accepted it and waited for practice to begin. Only later did that brief moment become something she would remember in unsettling detail.

How easily could a ghost pass for another person in the room—and what would it take to realize the difference?
