A Ghost Was Making Rounds | After Midnight

Working nights in a jail means getting used to strange sounds. Voices carry through vents, pipes knock inside concrete walls, and sometimes it is almost impossible to tell where a noise is coming from.

So when a corrections officer begins hearing faint whispering near an empty cell, he assumes the building is playing tricks on him.

Then the inmates begin noticing something too. Several of them insist another person is following him during his rounds, even though no other officer is there.

Before long, what started in one empty cell no longer seems willing to stay there.

And eventually, neither does it stay inside the jail.
