Get in the bunker! Nebraska football goes boldly where it’s never gone before

A step away on this Wednesday from the football grind— as Nebraska readies for its Big Ten opener at Michigan State — to dive into the news from Nebraska about its Memorial Stadium re-seating process. The information came down from the university to inform fans that all season ticket holders must select new seats in the stadium next year, then again 2028. And if your tickets are among the 24,000 grandfathered into an old system that reduced or eliminated a mandatory donation, well, that perk is gone.

Nebraska officials are emphasizing that options exist for everyone — from the fan who wants to buy a $299 season ticket in 2028 with no attached donation to the fan who wants access to a lunch during the game at nearly the same cost. Want to sit right behind the Nebraska sideline and access a sports bar during timeouts? It’s available for the right price. And that’s the thing, this is all about money and access. Just another reminder of what it takes to survive in this era of college football.
