ELITE FIT: Transfer Target Keba Keita Would Help TRANSFORM Kansas Jayhawks Center Position

Kansas Jayhawks eye BYU transfer Keba Keita to plug their center gap—can his elite rebounding and defense anchor a roster built around Tyran Stokes and Keanu Dawes? Keita’s high motor, 7-foot wingspan, and 99th-percentile rebounding could bring Kansas the physical presence they lacked last season, but questions remain about his offensive limitations and the Jayhawks’ NIL resources.

Derek Johnson breaks down Keita’s statistical matchup with Flory Bidunga, potential starting role versus Paul Mbiya, and how Bill Self’s system might unlock Keita’s best season yet. Key topics include offensive role fit, constraints with scholarships and NIL budgets, and the ramifications of BYU’s recent Jackson Kohler addition. Could landing Keita complete Kansas’s puzzle for a Big 12 title push, or will financial hurdles keep the Jayhawks out of the mix?
